Latrobe Health Services partners with Cardihab and Honeysuckle Health to improve prevention of heart disease
Latrobe Health Services, a not-for-profit private health insurer, has partnered with Cardihab and Honeysuckle Health to support the prevention of cardiovascular disease for people that have had a heart health check and are at risk of or living with heart disease.
This collaboration reinforces Latrobe Health’s commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of its over 100,000 members, particularly in regional communities where access to preventive health programs may be limited.
Cardiovascular disease while highly preventable, remains the leading cause of death and illness in Australia. Proactive prevention is key to reducing risk factors such as high blood pressure, cholesterol, and improving healthy lifestyle-related behaviours like daily activity, sleep and stress management.
Through this partnership, Latrobe Health members will have access to Cardihab’s purpose built and guideline aligned cardiac disease prevention program and apps, and one on one virtual coaching from qualified healthcare professionals from Honeysuckle Health to support their health and wellbeing journey.
The program delivered through Cardihab apps and via virtual consults includes:
- Connecting with a qualified clinician to support personalised health goals.
- Structured programs an evidence-based program tailored to the individual’s heart health needs, with key tasks and reminders to keep on track
- Medication support including reminders to take any prescribed medications.
- Education about heart health and resources that will complement advice from your health care provider.
- Healthy living: Be inspired to be physically active, and track personal progress including daily step count, goals, weight, diet and stress management.
Cardihab CEO Helen Souris added, “with so many people having heart health checks, it’s essential that evidence-based prevention programs are available to help make a difference to people’s health and wellbeing.
We are thrilled to work with Latrobe Health Services to enhance access to digital prevention programs as early intervention and lifestyle changes can reduce the risk of heart disease.”
As part of its broader mission to support community health and wellbeing, Latrobe Health Services continues to invest in initiatives that promote prevention and empower members to take control of their health. This partnership with Cardihab is another step in ensuring that high-quality preventive care is accessible to those who need it most.
Latrobe Health Services CEO, Ian Whitehead said, “Our partnership with Cardihab is a testament to our commitment to improving the health of our members and the communities they are part of.
