Dr John Rivers

Cardiologist Dr John Rivers is an experienced non-executive director working in senior roles in the hospital and health care industry for the last 25 years. He was a founding member of the Queensland Cardiovascular Group.

He has a long-term interest in medical quality systems, particularly clinician driven systems for measuring and improving patient outcomes, including the interface with clinical governance.

He was appointed to the Mater Misericordiae Limited Board in September 2019 and is also currently Chair of the Clinical and Business Systems committee. Dr Rivers is a non-executive director of Wesley Medical Research and chair of the research Committee. He is an active angel investor with Brisbane Angels and is a former Executive Chair of the health system regulator (HQCC).
